Description
This experimental graphic score project involves colourful graphic notation inscribed improvisationally by hand onto 200m long rolls of paper, and then loaded into two automatic hand-towel dispensers. Performers dispense themselves a new stretch of score as required, being instructed by turns to perform musical gestures; to move around the performance space; and to tear off and discard the existing score entirely. The piece’s flexible notation scheme has been designed for intuitive interpretation by ensembles of variable size, instrumentation, musical style, and performance experience.
